I have no idea whether ''The Stars Are Indifferent to Astronomy'' is a good album, but I might have to buy it just on the basis of its awesome name

I read Get Fuzzy for at least a few months. Then I realized I had better things to do with my time. After all, if Bucky was intelligent enough to clean his own litter box, he would be intelligent enough not to use one.

I sort of miss the various characters. I always liked when Rob Wilco's brother Roger appeared.

Over and out.

My guess is that Rob's friends and family can't stand the cat, so they are always making excuses. "Son, we'd love to have you visit, but we've all got scarlet fever and are quarantined for the next ... um ... three years or so."

I like Get Fuzzy, but it's suffered from the same character attrition that Garfield did. While there was once a cast of supporting characters, they gradually dropped out one by one until it's just the cat, the dog, the owner, and occasionally some other animals. At least Get Fuzzy hasn't resorted to talking spiders and bathroom scales. Yet.

Where have Rob's friends and family vanished to? (Probably the same place as Lyman, Irma, the old couple across the street from Jon's house, the mailman...)

The funny part is which body part a cat is most likely to lick/wash after visiting the litter box, and it ain't the paws.

mich4 (5) - I will admit that I didn't take to Get Fuzzy on my first try. I thought some of the same things that you mentioned. Bucky, the cat, reminded me of Bill the Cat from Bloom County and I hated Bill the Cat. A friend kept referring to it though so I gave it a try again and found that this time I not only liked it, but it often gave me the laugh of my day. I liked it so much that I got all the treasuries of the old strips out of the library and read them.

I read too many comics also. I counted and I keep track of at least 110 of them and that's not even counting ones I read now and then. My problem is that I will read about ones I've never heard of and check them out. This site has caused me to look at quite a few that I'd never seen before - thank you CiduBill!

Elyrest -- thanks for the tip, I'll give it more of a tryout.

The underlying problem is that I've let my lists/pages get too long. And by the time I get toward the end I'm kicking myself about the way I've been wasting time, and may direct the irritation and haste against the comics at the bottom of the page. (So to be fair I should move this up. But I still need to do some paring down.)

mitch4 - Personally, I think Get Fuzzy is one of the funniest comics out there. Bucky (cat) and Satchel (dog) personify the dichotomy of the the cat/dog personality stereotypes. Rob Wilco the tacit owner is just as lost in the weird world of Get Fuzzy as the animals. It is bitingly funny and oddly sweet at times. I'd stick with it.

Today's "Get Fuzzy" ( http://comics.com/get_fuzzy/2010-03-14/ ) also takes up the topic of litterbox hygiene. I've only been following GF for a few weeks and had no idea that ugly creature was supposed to be a cat! I'd be complaining that it's another case of a canine-centric strip being mean about cats, except that the main character dog is also rather off-putting. Come to think of it, the human isn't very appealing either. Maybe this would be a good place to trim on comics time, dýa think?

The F-Minus is better. They shan't get Hodge!

My cats don't have the problem presented in either strip -- they almost always cover up nicely, and don't have anything stuck between the claws. The medium-long haired one, however, tends to just sit down in the litter, and will have particles stuck in the hair under her tail and sometimes down the back of her legs. I've taken to trimming her hair along with claw-clipping time, if she'll put up with it.
